* You won’t believe 130 million girls don’t go to school. Are you serious..do you have any idea, how big number is this..!! If this were the population of a country, it would be the 10th largest nation in the world.

Education is the only solution for tons of problems but,
* Educating girls can save more than 1.2 million lives just in sub-Saharan Africa..!!
You don’t believe na..!! so here you go..!!
* If every girl completed primary education in sub-Saharan Africa, maternal mortality could fall by a dramatic 70%.
Yes, you read absolutely correct.
An educated human can make more rational decisions right..!! And there is always less opportunity for girls than boys. But many girls drop out due to various issues, which cause a lack of proper information.
* And also… An additional year of schooling for girls is estimated to result in almost a 12% increase in wages.

This is the only day that is exclusively dedicated to the girl child and still many of us don’t know about this. This is not a holiday or something, it’s just an observance held by the UN.
No matter how much we deny but we all know discrimination among girls and boys still exists, not only in our country but in the whole world. That’s why the UN took a step to promote girl’s rights and education which demolishes gender inequality, and prevents violence against girls, and provides facilities to needy girls.

So I did a short of QnA sessions with some Writers (Some authors and some poets) to know their thoughts about importance of this Day –

Tell us a little about yourself?
Satyansh gupta– . I’m a student at University of Allahabad
B Talekar– मेरा नाम बि . तळेकर है और मैं गुजरात से हूँ । मैं 2 हिंदी प्रकाशित उपन्यासों ‘ द डार्क डेकेन ‘ और ‘ अलमना – द सीक्रेट ऑफ इंडियन ओसन ‘ की लेखिका हूं , जो वर्ष 2016 में प्रकाशित हुए थी । ये दोनों पुस्तकें दो अलग – अलग श्रृंखलाओं का पहला हिस्सा हैं । इसके साथ ही मैंने हिंदी और अंग्रेजी भाषाओं में 15 से अधिक कहानियाँ और किताबें लिखी हैं ।
साहित्य और प्रकाशन की दुनिया में कई वर्षों तक काम करने के बाद , मैंने महसूस किया कि हमारे देश में कई उभरते लेखक हैं । लेकिन प्रकाशन प्रक्रिया के ज्ञान की कमी होने से और यह प्रक्रिया महंगी होने के कारण , उन्हें अपना कौशल दिखाने का अवसर नहीं मिल पाता । और इस समस्या को हल करने के लिए , मैंने ख़ुद ‘ ओशन ड्रॉप ‘ नाम से एक प्रकाशन कंपनी शुरुआत की है , जो नए लेखकों को बहुत कम लागत वह पॉकेट फ्रेंडली बजट में अपनी पुस्तक प्रकाशित करने का अवसर देती है , ख़ास तौर पर लड़कियों और हिंदी भाषियं लेखक को ।
My name is B. Talekar and I am from Gujarat. I am the author of the two novels published in Hindi ‘ The Dark Dekken‘ and ‘Alamana- The secret of Indian Ocean‘ in the year 2016. These two books are the first part of two different series. And I have written more than 15 stories and Books in both Hindi and English.

After working for so many years in the field of literature and publication, I have realized that there are many budding writers But because of a lack of proper knowledge about publication and also because this process is so expensive that they are not able to showcase their talent or potential. And to solve this problem, I have opened one publication company named ‘Ocean Drop’ which gives the opportunity of publishing the books of new budding writers at a very low cost and pocket-friendly budget, especially to the female and Hindi writers.
Spoorthi. P.- I am Spoorthi P, and I am currently an associate application developer and writer by choice. I hail from Karanataka, Banglore.

B Talekar– मैं ‘ वूमेन’स डे ‘ के बारे में पहले से जानती थी । पर मैं एक ऐसे खुली विचार वाले परिवार में रही हूं , जहां मुझे इन भेदभावों के बारे में चिंता करने की कोई जरूरत नहीं थी । मुझे ‘ इंटरनैशनल गर्ल चाइल्ड डे ‘ के बारे में काफ़ी बाद में पता चला । और मुझे ‘ इंटरनैशनल गर्ल चाइल्ड डे ‘ के समारोह में आमंत्रत भी किया गया । और वहां पर मुझे, मेरे परिवार को नन्हीं लड़कियों से जुड़ी कई ऐसी कहानियां जानने को मिली जिससे मुझे अनुभव हुआ कि आज भी हमारे देश में लड़के और लड़कियों में भेदभाव कायम है ।
At first, I knew about Women’s day only. and I belong to such a family where I never felt any kind of inequality between a girl and a boy so later, I got to know about “International Girl Child Day” and after that, I was invited to “International Girl Child Day” event where I and my family got to know about so many girls and their stories suffering from inequalities. Then I realized that still there is gender inequality in our country.
Spoorthi P.- To be honest, I have known this since last year, also just knowing it doesn’t make any difference unless and until you act upon it, and respect a girl child every day.
We can’t change anything in one day right..!! but we can change at least something in one day, so I asked the next question just to know the thoughts of our writers.

How does celebrating a day for Girl child can affect people?
Satyansh Gupta– It will surely help in education, empowerment, and equality and if most people will get aware of the theme then they will also support us.
B Talekar– मुझे लगता है कि हमनें उस समरोह में जिस तरह की दिल छूने वाली और मन को झिंझोड़ देने वाली कहानियां सुनी उन कहानियों का सबके सामने आना बहुत ज़रूरी है । क्योंकि लड़की और लड़कों में भेदभाव करने वाले लड़कियों के साथ हो रहे अन्याय को हमेशा दबा देना चाहते हैं । और जब तक इनकी सच्चाई इनके किए अन्याय सामने नहीं आते इन पिछड़े लोगों की हिम्मत बढ़ती रहेगी । वहीं कुछ ऐसे नेक लोग भी 3/5 इन बेमतलब के भेदभाव नहीं मानते और हर इंसान को बराबर का मौका देने में विश्वास रखते हैं । और ऐसे लोग समाज के लिए प्रेरणा स्त्रोत है ।
In that event, I heard so many heart touching and tragic stories. It’s very important to everyone that they should know about all of them because the people who are discriminating against girls under gender inequality and want to suppress girls for the injustice done to them and till the time truth is not revealed against them they will do it again and again. And at the same place also there are some people who don’t believe in gender inequality. They try to give equal rights and opportunities to everyone. These kinds of people are an inspiration to all of us

Spoorthi P.- Trust me, I don’t think it will affect any of them, just one day everyone’s status, display pictures, and stories gonna be the same, telling I am proud to be a girl. But when the scenarios change they gonna be like “why me”, instead I amt everyone, not just girl, everyone to celebrate this day every day, you don’t have to burn crackers, give away sweets or money, stay respectful a girl child regardless of their age. When you see them, protect them that’s more than enough I guess.
We don’t believe in things until we witness the things, how critical and important it is. So the next question I asked…
Can you tell any situation when you felt the need to support Girl Child?
Satyansh Gupta– Nearly 40% of adolescent girls in the age group of 15-18 years are not attending school while 30% of girls from the poorest families have never set foot in a classroom, according to the status report. So since the century, there is an urgent need for support for the girl child.
B Talekar– जब भी मैं अपने आसपास ऐसी लड़कियों को देखती हूं जिन में हुनर तो है । लेकिन उन्हें मौक़ा नहीं दिया जाता या फ़िर चौंके- चूल्हे के चलते वो अपने हुनर पर गौर नहीं करती तब मुझे लगता है कि गर्ल चाइल्ड को सपोर्ट करना ज़रूरी है । और इसी लिए मैं लेखन में रुचि रखने वाली लड़कियों अपनी पुस्तक लिखने और प्रकाशित करने के लिए प्रेरित करती हूं ।
Whenever I see Girls or women around me are so talented but are unable to pursue their talent or don’t focus on their talent because of their household chores then I realized that I should support Girl child and it is very important. And that is why I encourage them to write and publish their own book.
Spoorthi P.– I haven’t experienced it personally or seen it any near, but every time I see someone aborting a girl child or women getting raped it breaks my heart, I can’t explain, it traumatizes me, there are a lot of women who are facing issues and we only notice few, and that’s where it breaks me.

B Talekar– मेरा मानना है कि हर उस लेखक को फ़िर वो चाहे लड़की हो या लड़का उसे अपना हुनर दिखाने का मौका मिलना चाहिए । और अगर वो 4/5 अपना हुनर लेखन कार्य के ज़रिए दुनिया के सामने लाना हैं तो मैं और मेरा ओसन ड्रॉप हमेशा उनका स्वागत करेगा ।
I believe that every writer whether it’s a female writer or Male writer should get the chance to showcase their talent. And if they want to showcase their talent through the medium of writing in front of the world then, I and Ocean Drop always welcome them.
Spoorthi P.– Just respect humans…!! Not just girls, everyone. Respect anyone. Don’t ever lose your humanity no matter what the situation is, everything can be solved by peace. You lose nothing by being kind. Just be kind. Just spread love and not hate.
As you can see the lightening thoughts of our loved writers, I totally agree with them. We still have no idea how critical the situation is..!! we watch TV sympathize for days and then just forget things.

We don’t know the urgency of this day. There is a need for more days like this to make a better world…
As per unicefusa.org Quarter of girls are a victim of physical violence, which is approx 70 million girls(reported only). 1 in 10 girls is forced sexually, which is about 120 million girls, that too who are below 20 years old. And the most shocking is it’s only 30% of the total what we know whereas 70% of girls never report about being harassed physically or sexually.
Where we are going and what we are doing, it’s not normal right..??
What’s the main reason for sufferance is it child marriage?? or lack of education? or lack of proper support since their childhood?

As per the report, about 250 million women under the age of 15 are married. More than 700 million women around the world were married before their 18th birthday..!!
At this point, literally, I can’t write further, my hands are shaking… are we really in this era?? To be honest I wasn’t aware of things are this worst, until I googled facts for my blog.
But here is one more thing you must realize that 1 in 3 girls are bullied regularly by spreading rumors and cyberbullying. And girl’s schools are targeted 3 times more than boys school and we rant about being feminist..!! girls are really in the worst situation and they need support..!!

But without any support, they are nothing. Many girl babies are murdered before coming into existence or before opening their eyes..!!
