A man is but a product of his thoughts. What he thinks, he becomes.
– Mahatma Gandhi

Whenever we think of the person who used truth and non-violence as his sword and shields whether in the fight for independence or fight against the world.
The only name that comes in our mind is our Bapu, the Father of the Nation, our beloved Mahatma Gandhi.
How lucky we are that we can breathe in freedom. And we wouldn’t have this freedom if Mahatma Gandhi would not have sacrificed all his life serving mankind.
Gandhiji’s whole life has been an inspiration.
It is the most beautiful chapter of history that has so many teachings to implement in our lives. It is commendable how he successfully fought the war of independence non-violently and patiently. And his philosophy or ideology is known as Gandhian’s ideology. Or, In simple words Gandhigiri.
Gandhigiri became immensely popular after the release of the movie Lage Raho Munna Bhai, which was based on the Gandhi’s ideology.
Gandhigiri: Relevant or Irrelevant?
But does his ideology still lives in the heart of the people for whom he fought all his life?
The answer is somewhat near to NO. Because the Ideal India that was the dream of Mahatma Gandhi is still not achieved.

The very first Idea or Philosophy
He said, If we want to reach real peace in this world, we should start educating children. But, in our country, they are still many children who are so far away from education because of their own personal issues. So, did we able to succeed in achieving this dream or philosophy of Gandhi Ji?

The next thing in which Gandhiji believed was that Cleanliness was next to Godliness.
There has been an initiative by the Modi Government that is Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which is very popular. But, Are we really contributing our part to it? or just like others, we did only for social media. Because I still find people littering in public places. I still find people throwing garbage or trash so carelessly. And when you question them they say that this is not our home and we can do anything we want.
He always said that this whole country is our home, so why not keep it clean and help us in achieving Mahatma Gandhi’s Ideal India.
Non-violence
For Mahatma Gandhi, Non-violence was not a negative concept but a positive sense of love. He always believed that you can win the war with the help of Non-violence. It is not important that you fight with weapons or arms, sometimes when you talk with love, the world is all yours.
For Gandhiji, non-violence doesn’t mean mere peacefulness or the absence of overt violence. But, he denotes non-violence as the active love- the pole opposite of Violence in every sense.
But, we are not that die-heart fan of non-violence and also not let others live their lives. Because Gandhigiri is so old-fashioned, Nahi???

Truth
Gandhi preached three forms of truth -truth in thought, truth in speech, and truth in action. Being a lawyer by profession, he always advocated for speaking truth and honesty and also use to condemn the act of lying.
He believed that truth is the relative truthfulness in word and deed, and the absolute truth- the ultimate reality i.e. God and Morality, and the moral laws and code- its basis.
With truth, he also meant the transparency in one’s deeds and actions.
And we sometimes lack the courage of speaking the truth and being transparent in our deeds and words.
Women are superior than Men
Gandhi Ji believed that “To call woman the weaker sex is a libel; it is man’s injustice to woman. If strength is meant moral power, then the woman is immeasurably man’s superior.“
But we are least concerned about how our women are being treated?
The very recent Hathras Gangrape case and all other cases related to rape or domestic violence or exploitation and what not are the perfect example to tell how beautifully we are achieving Mahatma Gandhi’s Ideal India.
He also said that “Man can never be a woman’s equal in the spirit of selfless service with which nature has endowed him.”

Swadeshi
Gandhiji’s views about Swadeshi were, ” Cent percent Swadeshi gives sufficient scope for the most insatiable ambition for service and satisfaction of every kind of talent .”
This is one of the most relevant things in today’s time. That is promoting one’s local manufactured items globally. If we will start respecting and believing in the philosophy of Swadeshi, then we would be able to achieve Gandhi’s dream of self-sufficient INDIA.

But, the reality is that we don’t appreciate the locally manufactured goods, we love the imported goods as we believe that it enhances our status in society. This is not true. It lowers down the morale of several workers and manufacturers and makes it difficult for them to stand this competition.
Conclusion
So, these were the ideologies of Gandhi which can help us in achieving Mahatma Gandhi’s ideal India and making our country a peaceful nation where everyone lives count and matters, whether it is of Harijans ( Untouchables or the people very close to Gandhi’s Heart) or the poor of our country or woman or anybody including animals because as said by Mahatma Gandhi that, ” The greatness of a nation can be judged by the way its animals are treated.”
So, here’s one question that we all need to ask ourselves which path are we on- the path of Gandhigiri or the path of Gundagiri???
Happy Gandhi Jayanti!!!!!
